So you’ve set some new goals for yourself and you’re ready to go all in.
The question is, how do you make sure you’re staying focused on your goals in your day-to-day life?
There will always be distractions trying to steal your focus, so you need to have a plan in place to make sure you stay on track.
SO, HOW DO YOU KEEP YOURSELF READY?
WRITE DOWN YOUR BIG PICTURE GOALS EVERY SINGLE MORNING
By writing these down every morning, you’re able to keep your head above the weeds. You can keep the big picture in mind when you’re in the day-to-day grind.
This is super helpful for staying focused on your goals and what’s driving you forward.
CREATE A LIST OF THOUGHTS YOUR FUTURE SELF HAS
Take a moment to visualize yourself in the future already having achieved your long term goals. What thoughts does she have? How does she feel?
She isn’t stressing over how to achieve those goals. She’s already achieved them.
This is the key.
Your thoughts ultimately create all of the results in your life. When you practice thinking the thoughts your future self has, you will create the results you want.
Make a list of the thoughts your future self has. You obviously won’t know exactly what those thoughts are right now, but the point is to get yourself into the right frame of mind to achieve your goals.
The more you practice, the more new thoughts you’ll be able to create that will help get you there.
Practicing becoming the person who has the results you want is the secret to achieving your goals. It’s magic.
MAKE SURE YOUR HABITS ALIGN WITH YOUR GOALS
Your habits play a critical role in achieving your goals. They are either bringing you closer to or further away from your goals.
The little things you do each day seem so insignificant in the moment.
It’s difficult to see right away the impact they’re having on your progress, but they compound over time and create big results.
As you work towards your goals, take inventory of your daily habits. What do your daily routines look like? What results are they creating?
It may be helpful for you to make a list so you can really examine your habits. Then, identify which habits are serving you and your goals and which ones aren’t.
BE INTENTIONAL WITH YOUR TIME BY PLANNING YOUR LIFE EACH WEEK

Planning is how you design the life of your dreams.
When you plan ahead of time, you’re intentionally deciding how you want to spend your time.
You’re putting yourself and your goals ahead of everyone else’s requests of you.
Planning is how you create freedom. It’s how you make sure you’re prioritizing what you want from your life and the results you want to create. .
It’s incredibly freeing knowing you’ve made all your decisions for the week ahead of time from your prefrontal cortex, which is the part of your brain that is the most rational and future-focused.
SPEND TIME DEVELOPING THE RELATIONSHIP YOU HAVE WITH YOURSELF
Many of us struggle to stay focused on our goals because the relationship we have with ourselves isn’t the best.
We make plans to ourselves but don’t follow through.
We beat ourselves up. We try to escape all of our pain by indulging in habits that don’t support our goals. We start and stop constantly.
This has to stop.
If you have goals you want to achieve, you have to work on the relationship you have with yourself.
Treating yourself with kindness and respect is how you move forward. You don’t move forward by beating up all the way there.
Start showing up for yourself.
Decide who you want to be and show up as her. Dress in clothes that make you feel good. Get ready in the morning like you’re going to your dream job. Take care of your body because you love and appreciate yourself.
And most importantly, follow through on your plans. And if you don’t, be compassionate and curious.
Figure out why you didn’t follow through instead of beating yourself up about it.
Identify the thoughts you were thinking when it happened. Once you do this, it’ll be easy to see why you didn’t follow through.
The better the relationship you have with yourself, the more confidence you will develop.
The more confidence you have, the more you’ll put yourself out there and be willing to do hard things to achieve your goals.
There’s no better feeling than knowing you can always rely on yourself. So take care of yourself. Treat yourself like you’re your own best friend.
FILL YOUR MIND WITH INSPIRING, MOTIVATIONAL, AND POSITIVE INFORMATION
What you consume, you become. The information you feed your brain matters a lot more than you think it does.
TAKE TIME TO EVALUATE THE RESULTS YOU’RE CREATING
As you work towards your goals, evaluating your results is critical. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to evaluate how things are going, but this is how you make sure you stay on track.
