Luke Fitzgerald was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the oldest of 6 children in his family. After having tibia surgery his senior year of high school, Luke was given a scholarship and an opportunity to prove himself by UC’s Head Coach Donnie Butcher. Luke red-shirted his freshman year and played four seasons at Cumberlands.

One of only fifteen players in Cumberlands’ history to accumulate over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds, Luke scored 1,498 points and had 776 rebounds in 118 games. He ranks 7th on the all-time scorers list and 2nd all-time for career field goals by percentage. Luke led the team in field goals made in the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons, with 197 and 201 respectively. During his career, he was named NAIA All-American Third Team (2007-2008) and NAIA All-American First Team (2008-2009), and twice named NAIA National Player of the Week and All-MSC Team Player (2007-2008, 2008-2009). Luke completed his college career in 2009 as the NAIA Player of the Year.

Following graduation, Luke played for the Kentucky Bluegrass Stallions in the American Basketball Association for a few months. He played two years for the Dandenong Rangers in Australia, one year for TV Langen in Germany, and five years for USAT Toulouges in France and currently plays for EAB ANGERS in the North of France. He also uses his YouTube channel, “LukeLifeCharms”, to share his experiences with the world.
